[NEWS] 130926 YG’S NEW BOY BAND “WIN”, BEGINNING VIEWER VOTE



“WHO IS NEXT: WIN” (“WIN”), a survival show that portrays the competition between two teams of novice artists to be selected as members of YG’s new boy band formed eight years after the debut of Big Bang, is finally beginning the first viewer vote. The show has recently recorded the highest viewership among cable channel’s entertainment shows, and is not beginning the survival battle in earnest, with a great interest of viewers.


Team A (Song Min Ho, Kim Jin Woo, Lee Seung Hoon, Nam Tae Hyun, and Gang Seung Yoon) and Team B (B.I, Kim Jin Hwan, Bobby, Song Yoon Hyung, Goo Jun Hwe, and Kim Dong Hyuk) of “WIN” are finally beginning the battle. The vote to select the winner starts right after the end of Episode 6 on this coming Friday.

Since the vote is the starting point for a process to select the members of YG Entertainment’s new boy band eight years after the debut of Big Bang, it is drawing much attention. Viewers have already started talking about who the winner will be, among Team A whose members are already famous and Team B who have an outstanding teamwork.

In Episode 5, YG’s head producer Yang Hyun Suk, Big Bang’s G-Dragon and Taeyang, mentors of Team A and B respectively, as well as Top, Dae Sung, Seungri, and 2NE1’s CL, Bom, Dara, and Minzy appeared in the show, as judges.

The battle is a very important opportunity for “WIN” members, since it is the opening of the gateway to debut as YG artists and a test to be judged by all YG’s senior singers. The most important thing about the battle seems to be who will shake off the tension and sense of burden and exert full potential, to show a good performance and win the hearts and minds of viewers.

The first battle between Team A and Team B will be aired on the 25 (Fri.), at 10pm on Mnet and at 11:20pm on tvN.

“The show has been aired in more than 10 Asian countries as well, starting from the 17 (Tue.) this month, on STAR TV’s cable Channel V and CJ E&M’s Southeast Asian subsidiary Channel M. In China, the show is exclusively aired on Youku, the biggest local video-streaming site, and it has been creating sensation in the country, recording one million views for Episode 1 and 4.

Plus, “WIN” is live broadcasted on the mobile application of DAUM, where replay and behind story of the show are serviced. Plus, the show is triggering higher expectations, with a schedule to be broadcasted in 188 countries around the world through Arirang TV channel, starting from this week.
