Through a phone interview, Yang said on Oct 5, “The viewers are the judges on ‘WIN’, and the result depends on them completely. We will follow the viewers’ decision and will keep the promise we made. At the production preview event, we announced that the winning team will make a debut straight away while the losing one will either face a break-up or indefinite delay of debut. And we decided that the losing team should be broken up. We believe that is the right thing to do.”

The team wisely faced the crisis and boasted a fantastic harmony among the team members.

On episode 7 of ‘WIN’ aired on Oct 4, YG’s founder Yang Hyun Suk expressed much concern for Team A for the leader, Song Min Ho’s injury could put them in a disadvantageous position. At last, Yang decided to change the leader temporarily to Kang Seung Yoon.

On Oct 4, ‘WIN’ aired the second battle between Teams A and B, which recorded an average viewing rate of 1.3% and the peak of 1.9% according to Nielson Korea’s research based on households with cable channels. This is a record-breaking rate for the program. It is a clear testament to how popular the how has become.

Song Min Ho-Lee Seung Hoon and B.I-Bobby are at the center of the showdown. Team A’s lead rapper Song Min Ho and Lee Seung Hoon, and Team B’s lead rapper B.I (Kim Han Bin) and Bobby (Kim Ji Won) are staging their quick-fire raps, to win the future as YG artists, with their unique style and charm.

‘WIN’ is garnering popularity visibly and quickly.

On episode 6 aired on Sept 27, the much-anticipated first battle of Team A (Song Min Ho, Kim Jin Woo, Lee Seung Hoon, Nam Tae Hyun, Kang Seung Yoon), and Team B (B.I., Kim Jin Hwan, Bobby, Song Yoon Hyung, Koo Jun Hoe, Kim Dong Hyuk) was finally unveiled.

Teams A and B prepared a song and the choreography of TAEYANG and G-DRAGON respectively, and the latter team’s performance of GD’s ‘One of a Kind’ recorded the highest viewing rate in the entire episode.

According to Nielson Korea, the company that analyses viewing rates, the first battle on ‘WIN’ recorded 1.0% viewing rate while Team B’s performance hit whopping 1.3%. The intriguing point here is that the majority of the viewers were consisted of women in their 20’s, which was the same as the previous episode, but the groups that followed were quite different: men in their 20’s and women in their 40’s.

It can be analyzed that the 11 trainees, divided into Teams A and B, won the hearts of the viewers by sincerely wanting to make a debut and working night and day to achieve the dream. Their genuine diligence grabbed the attention of a huge array of viewers, disregarding their age.

The result of the battles is completely dependent on the viewers. The competition is ignited by the first battle revealed on episode 6, where the viewers could join in to vote for their favorite team.

‘WIN, ‘WIN voting’ and ‘WIN Team B’ have been the most-searched phrase on different search engines since the show was aired, while the program was added as a Plus Friend by the highest number of people on Kakao Talk. Hitting 700,000 views daily on Daum portal site, ‘WIN’ has topped the chart of most-viewed daily videos.

Episode 6 was indeed entertaining for the viewers as members of BIGBANG and 2NE1 appeared as judges, apart from G-DRAGON and TAEYANG coaching the teams as their mentors. Team B, which is consisted of members less known to the public than those of Team A, had the opportunity to show each of their talents and uniqueness to the viewers. Such opportunity helped Team B contribute greatly to achieving the highest viewing rate.

WIN is aired every Friday from 10p.m. on Mnet and 11:20p.m. on tvN. Korea’s Daum portal site provides replay and behind-the-scenes services while also streaming it live.
