[OSEN=박현민 기자] The 11 trainees from ‘WHO IS NEXT: WIN’, YG Entertainment’s real survival program to determine the formation of the next boy group, are scheduled to meet with the fans for the first time.
On Oct 12, the 11 members of ‘WIN’ will be meeting the fans for the first time in Seoul Yeondeungpo’s Times Square for one and a half hours from 2 p.m. At the surprise event, the 11 members will be able to thank the fans who have been cheering them on throughout the program.
This is an opportunity for the fans to meet the members of Teams A and B in person and see them more closely.
The 11 members, Song Min Ho, Kim Jin Woo, Lee Seung Hoon, Nam Tae Hyun and Kang Seung Yoon from Team A, and B.I., Kim Jin Hwan, Bobby, Song Yoon Hyung, Koo Jun Hoe and Kim Dong Hyuk from Team B will be making an appearance at the event.
‘High Touch’ is an event held possible by the great support from the fans. It will run on a first-come-first-serve system using the official online café and at the venue on the day. Further details will be announced on the official online café of the show.
Photograph session will be available for the fans, and the lucky ones drawn from the ‘WINNER box’ will be given an entrance to High Touch Event and an entrance ticket to the final live show, along with a card with WIN slogan and handwritten messages from the members. Another freebie includes a polaroid photo card.
On ‘WIN’, Team A won by 2.74% points in the first battle, which was a great surprise to all. The program is heightening the excitement for the fans as more episodes are released.
It came as a big surprise since Team A was never given the chance to beat Team B at monthly evaluation where members of 2NE1 and BIGBANG are judges. But the viewers’ choice was different.
Even Yang Hyun Suk, the founder of YG Entertainment, commented, “This is an outcome expected by nobody. As the producer, I am most keen to know how this happened.” His comment shows that it is absolutely unpredictable who the winner will be at the end of this program.
In episode 7 aired on Oct 4, the kings of judges Park Jin Young, Yoon Jong Shin and Lee Hyun Doe appeared on the show, giving different opinions on the members’ performances. This week on Oct 11 the 8th episode will be aired, and it is already attracting much attention as the judges’ decisions will be unveiled.
The warm-up battle before the 2nd official battle raked in the highest number of viewers, helping the program rank #1 in different search engines for the most searched word.
‘WIN’ boasts borderless popularity as well. In Japan, to respond to the rapidly rising popularity, its largest video-sharing website Niconico Video decided to do a special streaming for 3 days from Oct 21. Each 4 episode out of 7 attracted 1 million viewers already on China’s largest video-sharing website Youku, proving its extreme popularity.
The excitement of the High Touch Event, the very first opportunity for the fans to meet Teams A and B, will be aired in the 9th episode on Oct 18.
‘WIN’ is being aired in 10 different Asian countries, including on STAR TV-related channel V and East Asia’s CJ E&M channel M. It has also been airing in 188 countries through Arirang TV.
