[NEWS] 130913 ‘WIN’ FACE-TO-FACE SHOWDOWN, REASONS WHY IT SEEMS TO BE JYP’S VICTORY
YG and JYP’s trainees had a showdown on ‘WIN’.
On the 4th episode of ‘WHO IS NEXT:WIN’ that was aired on September 13th, YG and JYP’s old tradition of a face-to-face showdown was proceeded. It became an interesting attraction as a pride battle between the two companies.
A part from the YG trainees who have been showing off their different charms and skills through ‘WIN’, JYP trainees captured attention as it was their first time being revealed. It also brought about curiosity on what the JYP trainees’ skills would be compared to the skilled talents that the WIN members showed for the past weeks.
On this day, the showdown was progressed through a rap, dance, and singing battle. During the rap battle Song MinHo, B.I, Lee SeungHoon, and Bobby performed as a joint team and performed one of the best teamwork confidently. On the other hand from JYP, Mark, Younghyun, and Jackson rapped together as members from overseas. Yang Hyun Suk evaluated them by saying “It wasn’t JYP’s rap style. It was good.”
During the dance battle WIN’s Team B showed the perfect teamwork dance (also called the knife-dance), but due to nervousness they couldn’t show their full potential. During the singing battle tears were spilled due to a mistake of forgetting the lyrics. JYP trainees captured attention from the freestyle dance and singing along with a band. The responses seemed to say that overall JYP trainees’ stage was more superior.
The reason why JYP trainees showed a better performance is based on the ‘Enjoying Attitude’ that Yang Hyun Suk emphasized for a while. In WIN’s case, they had the inevitable burden of having to win against JYP as they were facing a debut. On the other hand, JYP trainees didn’t have a set team, or a set date of a debut, so they were able to enjoy the battle comfortably.
At the end of the episode Representative Yang Hyun Suk explained “I think this is a great experience for these friends who want to be a professional. It is reality and the world of the professionals that sometimes you can’t do as well as you expected and practiced. You can only become a true professional once you can succeed in countless stages like this.”
