YG Entertainment’s PSY, BIGBANG & 2NE1 are actively rooting for YG’s new boy group.
This morning (August 22), YG uploaded on
its official blog (www.yglife.com) the preview of ‘WIN: WHO IS NEXT’,
which is a real survival battle program that will determine the
formation of YG’s new boy group. In the preview video clip of the
program which will be aired for the first time on August 23, not only
YG’s artists PSY, BIGBANG and 2NE1 appeared to show their support, but
also Park Jin Young and Yoon Jong Shin to heighten the expectations for
the program.
PSY commented, “I think WIN is a
survival program tailored for 21st century. It’s extremely harsh and
cold, but I think it’ll be very interesting.” BIGBANG and 2NE1 could not
hide their surprise when the heard the rule of the program. G-DRAGON
described the program as “a real battlefield”, hinting the gravity of
the show.
Park Jin Young and Yoon Jong Shin who
are also producers like YG’s founder, Yang Hyun Suk, said, “Creating a
program like this simply shows that YG is confident with what they’ve
got. That is YG power.” They have great expectations for the first boy
group in 8 years since BIGBANG’s debut.
The program, which will go on air on
August 23, will be shown on Mnet and tvN. The 11 trainees of YG will be
divided into two teams A and B for a fierce battle. The winning team
will be given the name ‘WINNER’ to make a debut immediately after the
program finishes. Team A, which consists of KANG SEUNG YOON, the
recently debuted ex-contestant of Mnet’s Superstar K2 and LEE SEUNG
HOON, the ex-contestant of K-Pop Star, have 5 members in total with the
average age of 20. Team B has 6 members with the average age of 17, with
the then boy rapper B.I. who featured in MC Mong’s ‘Indian Boy’ and Koo
Jun Hoe, another ex-contestant of K-Pop Star.
‘WIN’ is a 100% real survival battle
program where the viewers decide the final winner. Along with YG’s
founder YANG HYUN SUK, other YG artists, producers and special guests
will be participating in the process of the competition.
The program will be aired overseas
beginning from September 17, through channel V (part of the cable
channels of START TV) and channel M (part of the cable channels of FOX)
in 10 countries including Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand,
Vietnam, the Philippines, Malaysia,
Indonesia, Cambodia, Myanmar, the Maldives, and Macau. In China, the largest video-sharing website Youku will exclusively air the program.
